Ecology

The Missionary Society of St. Columban is internationally recognized for its work to help create an ecologically sustainable future, model justice economic systems, defend the rights of migrants, and promote demilitarization and nonviolence.

Reflecting on our 100 years of experience, the Society developed position statements on the following issues: migration, extractive industries, water, climate change, genetically modified organisms, peace and nonviolence, and economic justice.

As a project of the Society, St. Columban Mission for Justice, Peace, and Ecology specializes in ecological and US/MX border issues. We advocate for these concerns to the United States government, as well as equip people of faith with the skills they need in order to evaluate public policy, build bridges between communities, and advocate for the common good.
