Confronting Chaos, Forging Community: Register for Ecumenical Advocacy Days
by Jenny Labbadia, Communication and Outreach Associate
Every year, the Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach participates in Ecumenical Advocacy Days, a conference in Washington D.C. that brings Christians of all denominations from around the country together to explore issues of justice and peace.
This year, the conference will take place from April 21-24 and will tackle the intersectionality of racism, materialism, and militarism through prayer, worship, and advocacy. With the official theme, Confronting Chaos, Forging Community, participants will learn more about how racism, materialism, and militarism impact the world, our communities, and our own lives.
This year we are happy to announce that Columban Fr. Pat Cunningham will be a keynote speaker! Fr. Cunningham will highlight the connection between these issues and his mission work in South Korea. Fr. Cunningham has served the people of South Korea for many years and has worked very closely with the movement to resist the building of a naval base on Jeju Island, a sight of great ecological and cultural significance for Korea.
We invite you to register for this exciting weekend and hear more about the work of Fr. Cunningham and many other inspiring leaders! Let us know if you register so we can say hi in D.C.!
